IAAI files criminal case against IATA India

The IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI) informs that IAAI has taken legal recourse to solve the problems heaped upon the IATA Agents Fraternity resulting in the filing of a criminal case against IATA in Gurgaon, Haryana, seeking directive for the reconstitution of APJC-India under Appendix ‘F’ – of PAConf New Guidelines of January 2014, which further led to a case under CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) against IATA Representative, Vinod Malhotra.

Jagdeep Bhagat, President for Delhi State Committee, IAAI, in an email to TravTalk stated that IAAI had challenged in the court that till the new APJC is constituted as per the applicable IATA guidelines, all the decisions being taken by the prevailing APJC be stayed to safeguard the interest of the travel fraternity. “Perhaps, as it is not constitutional and legal for the current APJC to implement any policy changes, TAFI and TAAI have refrained to go ahead with the Joint Bank Guarantee Scheme for its members.”
